The Duties of a Fiscal Intermediary

As a fiscal intermediary, IFIS performs an array of duties on behalf of Inclusion customers. These are duties that would otherwise fall to the employee to complete on his or her own. Below is a list of duties IFIS agrees to perform or assist our customers to:

Recognize the customer as employer, and prepare and complete the forms necessary so that the customer can appropriately hire, supervise and terminate employees.

Prepare and maintain original and file copies of all forms needed to comply with existing federal, state and local laws regarding employer payroll activities including required tax payments and reports.

Review and maintain appropriate files for all forms completed by Customer and the customer’s employee(s). IFIS will provide copies of documents as requested by customers.

Receive and process timesheets, process payroll upon receipt of approved timesheets, and perform tax withholdings and payments according to federal and state regulations.

Prepare checks for all support providers on behalf of the customer.

Prepare and file necessary end of the year reports with the IRS and state tax authorities.

Provide, on request, regular summaries of payroll and deductions made on customer’s behalf.

Provide customer with information as needed concerning their fiscal and payroll responsibilities and obligations as employers.
