Justin Hamel
Vice President

Justin Hamel

Justin Hamel, an Oregon native, began serving his community at the age of ten. Fifth graders at Justin’s school spent alternating Friday afternoons playing with children with special needs or interacting with seniors affected by dementia. Out of Justin’s early exposures grew empathy, compassion, and a strong desire to advocate for those in need.

As an adult, Justin provided support, care, and direction while working with special needs adults in both residential and vocational settings. He joined Inclusion Inc.’s Board of Directors after volunteering much time both developing and teaching a special needs computer education class in concert with Inclusion Inc. staff.

Justin is currently pursuing a BA in Community Development, and in his free time, he enjoys high-altitude photography, riding motorcycles, travel, the arts, and saving his pennies for a round-trip ticket to earth’s moon.

Angela Weaver
Secretary

AngelaWeaver

Angela Weaver, M.Ed., has worked in the disability field for more than 25 years. She earned her Masters in Education, Special Needs Education, at Colorado State University. She currently works with a wide variety of individuals, families, and professionals to promote health and wellness, and independence and inclusion for people with disabilities.

As the Project Coordinator and Principal Investigator for the Oregon Office on Disability and Health (OODH), Angela works closely with OODH colleagues and multiple state and community partners to accomplish OODH's projects and activities to improve the quality of life among Oregonians with disabilities. Angela is also a Master Healthy Lifestyles Facilitator and conducts Healthy Lifestyles workshops throughout Oregon and Healthy Lifestyles Train-the-Trainer events throughout the United States.

As the co-chair of the Breast Health Task Force, a subcommittee of the Oregon Partnership for Cancer Control Prevention and Early Detection Workgroup, Angela works with Task Force members to promote and support activities to increase healthy lifestyles, breast cancer screenings, and reduce breast cancer risks and related deaths among women in Oregon and SW Washington. Angela serves on several other state committees related to disabilities and/or disability and health, and she presents at local, national, and international conferences on disability and health topics.

Alice Furth

AliceBenson

Originally from Texas, Alice moved to Oregon in 2007. She earned her undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation Studies and went on to earn a graduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies. While focusing on her graduate work at night and on weekends, Alice worked full time for an agency in Dallas, Texas that offered childcare services for low‐income families. In addition to case management, Alice also taught child development classes to parents and offered working‐parent seminars to local businesses designed to assist employees in achieving a work/life balance. While in graduate school, Alice took the opportunity to go to Romania for a summer in an effort to improve conditions and share developmentally appropriate practices with local childcare staff.

Alice has 10 years of professional experience working for non‐profit agencies, and for the last 5 years, she has devoted herself, in multiple capacities, to working on behalf of individuals with disabilities. She has experience working in program management for Goodwill Industries and has also worked as a Personal Agent for a brokerage in Eugene. Currently, Alice is working for the State of Oregon as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.

Alice enjoys spending most of her free time with her husband, Ben, with whom she likes to travel and see movies. She also enjoys doing some hiking and exploring in the Pacific Northwest.

Susie Brame

AliceBenson

Susie is the mother of two adult children, one with a developmental disability (DD). She has been actively involved in advocacy efforts with schools, doctors, therapists and the service provider industry since her son was initially diagnosed with an anoxic brain injury at age two.

Drawing from her personal experiences and those of other parents with adult children with DD, Susie recognizes the need to reach families when their children are younger, educating and preparing them for the issues their children will face once they enter the adult world. Susie wants to be involved with other families and community resources to create solutions for adult issues - housing, employment, social venues, support services and life planning. Susie is one of the founding board members of Families Supporting Independence (FSI), a 501 (c) 3 non profit whose mission is to create safe and affordable independent living situations for adults with DD in their community.

She is Board Secretary for Inclusion, Inc. and board member of Autism Society of Oregon (ASO). Trained as a social worker, Susie has coordinated professional development conferences and workshops since 1983.

Don Klover

DonKlover

Two things convinced Don that he might qualify for and be able to contribute to Inclusion's board of directors: active involvement in this community with his special needs son and years of business experience working with diverse teams on complex projects. He intends to combine that experience with what he can learn from the board and the organization to help improve the way the state support system works for everyone.

A Midwest boy through high school, Don moved to Portland some thirty-five years ago where he raised a family that included foster children and worked predominantly in the cable utility industry. Aside from the comforts derived from a large and extended family Don enjoys exploration through motorcycle touring, photography, and the great outdoors.
